Nader EnghetaEach year, Photonics Media, which publishes magazines, websites, consumer guides and newsletters aimed at individuals working with light-based technologies, names luminaries of the field to its “Beacons of the Photonics Industry” list. The award is designed to honor “those in the photonics and optics industry whose outstanding contributions have advanced light-based technologies in the scientific, business, academic and consumer communities.”
This year, the honors have been extended to 15 people, including Nader Engheta, H. Nedwill Ramsey Professor in the departments of Electrical and Systems Engineering, Bioengineering, Materials Science and Engineering.
Engheta was named in the new “Leaders” category. He was nominated by readers, and selected by the editorial staff of Photonics Media. His full citation can be found here.
