Mobility21’s Megan Ryerson on the Future of Intercity Transportation with Autonomous Vehicles

Megan Ryerson, a professor in Penn’s schools of Design and Engineering, is the research director of Mobility21, a new research partnership that takes a multidisciplinary approach to transportation issues. Drawing on Penn faculty from Engineering, Design, Law, Wharton and CHOP, the partnership also has members at Carnegie Melon University, the Community College of Allegheny County and The Ohio State University.

At a recent TEDxPenn event, Ryerson spoke about how future technologies could change the way humans choose the way they travel between cities, and how possibility new vehicle technology could lead to more highway traffic and empty airports.
