Penn Electric Racing Unveil their Latest Creation: REVX

On March 28, Penn Electric Racing unveiled their 2025 vehicle, REVX, during a launch ceremony on College Green. This marks the team’s 10th custom-designed car since its founding in 2013 and its most sophisticated to date.

On College Green on March 28, Penn Electric Racing, the student-run team of more than 100 members from the College of Arts and Sciences, the School of Engineering and Applied Science, and the Wharton School, unveiled their most advanced electric race car yet: REVX.

Designed for the 2025 Formula SAE Electric Competition in Brooklyn, Michigan, from June 17 to 21, REVX features cutting-edge aerodynamics, a lightweight, high-capacity battery, a custom planetary gearbox, and the team’s most sophisticated aerodynamics package to date, generating more than 90 pounds of downforce.

The car also includes a fully custom electrical system with real-time data streaming and extensive hardware-in-the-loop testing. Blending cutting-edge engineering with a strong mentorship culture, students across all experience levels contributed to REVX’s design, assembly, and innovation, as the team now enters its testing phase ahead of competition.
